The landscape always comes first.
Every painting begins with long walks, quiet observation and the changing light of the Peak District.

Painting the places
I know best.
For over twenty years I've been painting the landscapes that surround my home in the Peak District. Inspired by changing light, shifting weather and the quiet beauty of familiar places, my work celebrates the character of Britain's countryside.
Whether it's an original painting, a limited edition print or a commissioned piece, my aim is always the same—to create artwork that brings a lasting connection to the places we love.

Landscapes shaped by changing light, shifting weather and time spent walking through the Peak District and beyond.

The work starts
out in the landscape.
Every painting begins with time spent outdoors. Walking, sketching and returning to familiar places through changing seasons allows each landscape to slowly reveal something new.
Back in the studio, those observations become layers of drawing, texture and paint before the finished work eventually finds its place on the wall.
