The subject
Perched on a small island off the coast of Anglesey, South Stack Lighthouse was built in 1809 to warn ships navigating the hazardous waters of the Irish Sea. The tower stands 28 metres tall, and its light—now automated—flashes every ten seconds, visible for many miles offshore. Visitors reach the lighthouse by descending over 400 steps down the cliff face and crossing a narrow bridge that spans the channel carved by centuries of relentless waves.
In this small group workshops I’ll walk you through the fun process of creating mixed-media paintings, from sketching and adding texture to exploring collage, and painting with acrylics.
Whether you’re new to painting or more experienced, everyone is welcome! Forget about perfection and just enjoy the creative journey together. At the end, you can take home your finished painting.
All materials and refreshments included.
Please note we'll be using acrylic paints and inks so don't wear your best jumper and feel free to bring an apron.
You will receive a follow up email with any further information a couple of days before your workshop.
